Export wizard & OCR security
Pending checks, watermarks, page numbers, exhibit stamps, appendix, and rasterize. PDF /verify fail-closed applies to the standard PDF apply path.
Export and proof | 2 min read
Export warns when unreviewed suggestions remain. Finish Fast Track, or confirm Download anyway. Download anyway is an authorized override for pending suggestions on a completed redacted file. It is not the default path. The download is audited. It does not bypass optional dual-control approval, PDF /verify on the standard PDF apply path, or Block unredacted exports.
How it works
Pending check
Unreviewed suggestions warn before download.
Markings
Watermark, page numbers, exhibit stamp, appendix.
Verify
If flagged text survives, the file stays here.
Optional dual-control approval
Dual-control is optional and off by default, unless an admin setting or policy pack turns it on. It is not the standard export gate. When Require approval before export is on under Settings → Access and exports, download stays blocked until a configured reviewer approves the document. The Export dialog shows the block. Download anyway does not override it. Requesters cannot approve their own requests. Turning the setting on also enables approval documents (the Approval control on the document).
Safety
Apply already burns redaction boxes into overlapping scans. Rasterize in Export converts remaining pages to images when you want a fully non-searchable pack.
Markings
- Watermarks, page numbers, and exhibit stamps.
- Pick a saved exhibit preset from Settings → Exhibits, upload a custom stamp image there, or type a label.
- Legal disclosure: Document Access Appendix lists redacted categories and page counts (and pseudonym tokens if used), without reprinting personal data.
Optional split downloads a ZIP by page ranges or max file size. A case ZIP keeps the folder tree from the case: files land in the same folders you created, including empty folders.
After apply on Office originals with native generation enabled, Download native Word/Excel appears when available. Native DOCX/XLSX is a convenience export derived from the redacted work; it is not the same as PDF /verify fail-closed. Prefer the verified PDF when you need that guarantee.
QA certificate number
The export dialog shows the signed QA certificate number only for the base verified redacted PDF: watermark, rasterize, page numbers, exhibit stamps, Document Access Appendix, and split all off. Any of those options changes the bytes, so the certificate claim is hidden. A transformed export is not covered unless a new certificate is issued for that exact artifact.
