Integrations overview

Connect SharePoint, OneDrive, iManage, HighQ, Datasite, Danish ESDH systems, S3, or webhooks.

Source connectors are available on Trial and Enterprise (the connectors entitlement). Open Integrations in the sidebar to see the provider catalog and any systems you have already connected.

How it works

Connect

Admin credentials

Browse

Folder or case scope

Import

Into a Northdocs case

Apply

Then verify

Write-back

Optional, off by default

Admins own credentials. Editors browse and import into Cases once a connector is live. Write-back stays off until you turn it on.

Who can do what

Organization admins own connector credentials: create, update, authorize, test, and delete require the admin role. Editors and members can still browse connected folders and import into Cases once a connector is live.

End-to-end path

  1. Admin picks a provider from the catalog.
  2. Opens that provider's Connect page and fills its fields (or demo data locally).
  3. Authorizes or verifies.
  4. Any entitled editor Browses and imports into a Case.
  5. Fast Track, then Apply.
  6. Optionally write *_redacted.pdf back to the source.

Live connections store secrets encrypted at rest (AES-GCM). Production environments must set CONNECTOR_ENCRYPTION_KEY. Only explicit local APP_ENV (development/test/local) may use a documented DEV fallback when the key is unset. Never rely on that fallback outside local.

Sync (optional) discovers new files only inside folders you scope. Write-back (optional, off by default) uploads after apply completes. Every connect, import, sync, and write-back event is audited.
