Case templates and workflow checklists

Start a case as DSAR, FOI, litigation disclosure, or RFP proposal and get a matching checklist.

When you create a Case you can pick a template: DSAR / subject access request, FOI / public access request, Litigation disclosure, or Vendor / RFP proposal. A Standard case has no template and no checklist.

How it works

Case

Keep identities together

Upload

PDF, Office, scan, chat

Fast Track

Accept a person once

Apply

Redact or pseudonymize

Verify

Fail-closed

Export hands you a file only after verification. Surviving sensitive text blocks the download.

A template seeds a checklist. It does not replace Fast Track, apply, or fail-closed export.

What each template tracks

  • DSAR: identity and disclosure logging.
  • FOI: scope, exemptions, consultation, and appeal guidance.
  • Litigation: privilege, binder assembly, and production.
  • RFP: pricing, contacts, registration details, confidentiality markers, approval, and release.

On Firm, Trial, and Enterprise, FOI and DSAR cases also unlock the FOI / DSAR tab (FOI Case OS): statutory clocks, structured exemption schedules, consultations, and a response memo.

What stays after create

  • The checklist is copied onto the case when it is created, so it keeps its steps even if the template changes later.
  • Templates also set the tone of the AI cover summary in the Export wizard.
  • Steps follow your interface language, so switching Northdocs between English and Danish relabels them without losing which ones are ticked.
  • The template cannot be changed after creation. If you picked the wrong one, create a new case and use Move to case from the Documents list to move the files across.
