Policy packs by matter type
Assign versioned detection, pseudonymization, and export defaults to an organization or case.
Policy packs turn a matter type into repeatable detection and export settings. Northdocs includes packs for litigation disclosure, subject access requests, Danish FOI and aktindsigt, HR employee files, and clinical records.
Assign at organization level
An organization admin opens Settings > Policy packs, reviews a published definition and its settings preview, then assigns it as the organization default. Organization packs are edited with category, mode, and export controls (JSON remains as an advanced dump). Apply to detection settings updates enabled categories, safe custom patterns, keyword lists, category modes, AI preference, and export controls.
Assign on a case
Organization admins can select a published pack when creating a case or from the case header. A case with no direct assignment inherits the organization default. The active pack badge shows which policy is effective.
When a document first enters detection or apply, Northdocs stores one immutable snapshot of the effective pack definition. Later pack changes do not rewrite that document snapshot.
Export approval is enabled only when the organization plan includes Approval workflows. A retention value is a workflow suggestion and is not forced onto the organization.
