Open a Case, open the Binders tab, create a binder, and pick documents from the case for that binder's pool. Explorer filenames (including Bilag/Exhibit prefixes) are kept.
Each binder can have multiple volumes. Volumes are alternate packing setups of the binder's documents, so the same files can appear in several volumes with different order and TOC structure.
The binder overview lists every binder in the case. Open a binder to enter Legal Binder Studio: add documents to the pool, pack them into a volume, then use Layout and Export. Size guidance uses document count, total pages, and file size.
Within a volume, the packing list is the source of truth: drag to reorder, renumber references, assign plaintiff/defendant party, add merged subheadings, and watch the live TOC preview update instantly.
The PDF outline starts from the packing list. Layout → PDF outline can switch to a custom outline to rename, nest, or add bookmarks. Highlight a passage in document review and bookmark it from the popup to nest that location under the exhibit. Export writes the outline when Include PDF bookmarks is on.
The TOC preview shows the binder name with the volume line underneath (custom volume name, or Volume I / a custom cover label). Preview TOC downloads the real PDF front matter.
TOC layout: fonts, columns, leaders, separators, cover/caption page, roman TOC vs arabic body page numbers, Bates stamping, clickable TOC links, page size/margins, stamps (including uploaded stamp images), and org templates.
Clone a binder, add a volume, or copy the current volume setup. Export merges when all documents in the volume are completed redacted outputs.
Prefer completed (redacted) documents when sharing with counterparties.
